In the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges region there are a rich variety of species in their natural landscapes, but landscapes and ecosystems have been dramatically altered since European settlement, resulting in less than 14% of native vegetation remaining in some areas.

The Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board aims to manage, protect and in some cases, restore the region's precious natural resources.

The Board’s website www.amlrnrm.sa.gov.au hosts a range of interesting information for the home gardener or larger rural property owners along the coast, hills or plains.
